Dusty the kangaroo is convinced he is a dog and loves life on the farm at Wittenoom Hills, near Esperance in Western Australia
Dusty the kangaroo, who is two years old, is definitely a dog
Ashley Stewart and his family’s Western Australian farm, witnum Hills, is 60 kilometres north-east of altridge.
After Joey’s mother dies in a car accident, Mr. Stewart comes to her aid.
We fed him even though we were not sure that he would survive, and of course he took off from there”.
“He resides in the courtyard at the back. He used to steal a dog bed from other dogs, so we had to go buy a third bed to sleep in.”
According to Mr. Stewart, the kangaroo was loved by Border Collie, Rosie and golden retriever, Lily.
“He thinks that Lily is his mother, he always takes care of her, they are always together, and if Lily comes out of the yard, he longs for her and kind of jumps up and down the fence until he goes out with her.”
According to Mr. Stewart, the dusty kangaroo had a dog-style collar on
“When he was younger, we would take him outside during the day and then take him inside at night. We couldn’t locate him because they simply sit there and don’t make any noise, so I had to walk outside at night with a flashlight.
“So I got a collar and put some reflective tape on it so that it would shine in the torch light and I could find it.”
