Dog Who Was Abused Deserves Every Moment Of His Healing Bath
If anyone deserves a gentle and soothing bath, it’s Ruddy Taurus. He came to a shelter in New York City in November after being discovered neglected in a plastic bucket in poor health. He hardly had any hair and his skin was destroyed by severe scars probably from being burned with battery acid and multiple cigarette burns.
He also could not walk due to a fracture of his front leg. Adding to his already poor condition, he has Cushing’s disease which has remained undiagnosed.
The municipal shelter contacted the north-eastern branch of the rehabilitation of rescue animals with special needs for help and was rescued by its director Courtney Bello. Although Courtney is used to caring for seriously ill animals, Rudy broke her heart. She told The Huffington Post that his front leg was in terrible health, she refused to photograph him.
Rudy was also emotionally devastated. “It’s amazing that this devastated young man survived,” the organization posted on Facebook. “Other than being scared and completely wary of the gentle human touch, Rudy has been grateful and nothing but a love bug since the moment we saved him.”
The only thing that Rudy greatly benefited from was the therapeutic baths.
The organization uploaded a video of Rudy taking one of his spa treatments, which helps him repair his skin and fur.
Fortunately, his adoptive parents are veterinarians and can give him all the medical care he needs during his recovery. They also have a beautiful New England farmhouse where his spirit may improve and he is surrounded by passion. His days are full of friends: young people, dogs, cats, barn animals like Harold Lamb.
“Rudy’s eyes are full of love and optimism and he has a way of instantly catching your heart when he looks at you,”Courtney told HuffPost. “He always loved to be passionate and is still doing it now, as I have noticed with his spa treatments. I am simply very happy and we are able to offer him a decent life.”
And they continued to show him a good life until his death. In an addendum to the original article above, I found out that Rudy had recently disappeared due to difficulties with a spinal disease. Senar and his foster family showered Rudy as much as they could before he went away. I am glad that Rudy was able to enjoy his last months surrounded by passion.
