Not a film but the ‘Emergency’ TV Series. The exterior shots were all done at Station 127 in Carson, CA (2049 E 223rd St). The bottom shot was just taken on June 19, 2024 and the upper shot is stock footage from the TV series in the mid-70’s. This is still a working station directly across from a refinery as seen in the show. If the fire fighters aren’t busy, they are happy to show you around. It is laid out exactly as seen in the show. If you want to see the original Squad 51, the Crown and Stutz Engine 51 and the yellow Chevy ambulance they used in the show, they are on display at the LAFD Museum just east of here in Bellflower.

On May 17th 2021, I visited the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad doing book research. This is also the location of where they filmed the train and bus crash for the 1993 movie, “The Fugitive.” Years ago when I learned they actually did a full scale crash for the movie I always wanted to visit the site. The site is on private property and hard to see from the road above but with permission to be on the property for the day and blessing I got to see it first hand. It was pretty amazing. Don’t try and go without permission as you will be prosecuted and the area has a high tendency for snakes as well. You can see the area briefly if you ride the train though. Sylva, North Carolina.
