I had no idea when we visited the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park that it was actually the ‘Overlook Hotel’ from Stanley Kubrick’s the Shining! When we walked in I had this overwhelming sense that I had been there before. When we turned a corner and I saw those elevators I almost peed myself!! Note: yes I’m aware that the actual filming was done on a set. That’s why I put ‘Overlook Hotel’ in quotes. Kubrick based the interior shots from this hotel, not the Stanley. The Stanley was what King based his book on.

I’ve visited these locations in 2019: 🎬 The infamous chainsaw scene took place at 728 Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. 🎬 Tony and Manny hang out by the pool at the famous Fontainebleau Miami Beach. 🎬 Montana Management Co in Miami is real life Montgomery Management Co in 8623 Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood, Los Angeles.
