So here’s something different. I visited the house that Bette Davis and Joan Crawford lived in, from, “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?” in Los Angeles in 2019. The address is: 172 S. McCadden, Los Angeles, CA. I posted this in another group and another member took it and created this cool composite. My pic is on the right of course and a clip from the film of Bette Davis pulling into the driveway. Thought this would be perfect for this group. :-)

This is Gilligan’s Island. The famous opening shot in seasons 2 and 3 is of Coconut Island, or Moku o Loʻe located in Kāneʻohe Bay off the island of Oʻahu in the state of Hawaiʻi. The show filmed its pilot and some of the first episode not here but over on Kauai and then moved back to Los Angeles. The island is state owned and used by the Hawaiʻi Institute of Marine Biology. Back in the late 90’s (yes my picture is old) I got to tour the island and this is the picture I took before boarding the ferry. At the time you couldn’t get on to the island unless you were apart of a school trip or you were a researcher. Not just anyone could go there you had to have permission. The place is really cool. Our guides told as a tall tale that the show went back to LA because actors were getting into too much “shenanigans” on the island. While that may be true they most likely decided to shot back in LA and on a sound stage, instead of on location, due to the budget. But, hey it’s fun to think that some “shenanigans” went on while they were filming in Hawai’i. ⛴️⚓️🏝️
