I had no idea when we visited the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park that it was actually the ‘Overlook Hotel’ from Stanley Kubrick’s the Shining! When we walked in I had this overwhelming sense that I had been there before. When we turned a corner and I saw those elevators I almost peed myself!! Note: yes I’m aware that the actual filming was done on a set. That’s why I put ‘Overlook Hotel’ in quotes. Kubrick based the interior shots from this hotel, not the Stanley. The Stanley was what King based his book on.

Selena movie famous home which was actually her home in real life. 1997. Corpus Christi, Texas. Now, 2023: Some fencing has been added. Home is still owned by the Quintanilla family. The house on the left is the one she grew up in. The one on the right is the one she purchased with Chris.
