A 9-year-old German Shepherd called Sarge turned into a surrogate and kind mother for numerous parentless fawns
The unique ability of dogs to be friendly, caring and loyal will always be admired by people. Their big hearts are open to those who need comfort, care and protection.
This applies not only to humans, but to other living organisms as well. Sarge, the German Shepherd, is a gentle dog who takes care of orphans.
Its owner, Cheryl Stephan, a lady with a big heart, has adopted many orphaned animals over the years, including some baby fawns.
Sarge was very friendly and kind to all the adopted animals, but he had a special affection for Buckhead, who was the first orphaned fawn Cheryl adopted.
When Sarge met this little creature for the first time, some warm feelings appeared in his heart. He was immediately drawn to this fawn and quickly became his protector.
The gentle dog was involved in all aspects of Buckwheat’s care. He quickly assumed the crucial “mother” role of the fawn.
Wherever Fawn went, the dog would follow him, just to make sure everything was okay with Buckheat. Sarge had to go find the fawn and bring him back when he grew up and became independent and ventured out on his own.
When Buckheit grew and became strong, Cheryl had to release him into the wild. This made the cute dog very sad. His owner even predicted that he would never be as friendly with other animals as he was with this one.
But fortunately she was wrong. Sarge’s sympathy returned once Cheryl brought more nails to rehab. Soon he became a babysitter for these wonderful creatures.
