Dog Who Wouldn’t Fight Back In The Ring, Gets The Hug She’s Been Waiting For
The little boy lay next to her, and with all her scars and pain, he held her for the dog she was.
She was discovered in the worst possible condition, having been used as bait dogs in an illegal dog fight. She is currently happy in a loving home.
It is illegal to participate in dog fighting. It is a crime in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Possession of tusks for combat purposes is a criminal violation in most states. Overwatching air combat is also illegal in every state. State laws and penalties vary widely. This sport simply involves pitting dogs against each other in order to fight, resulting in serious injury and, more often than not, death. These miserable creatures are bet on by those who profit from their exploitation.
Betsy is a pit bull who was rescued from this illegal and heinous behavior. When rescuers found her, they couldn’t believe she was still alive in this condition. Betsy’s head had a massive gash with almost no skin on top, one of her ears was missing, and she had bite scars all over her body.
Fun times with his human friend on the trampoline
Betsy was turned into a bait dog and torn apart by fighting dogs because she refused to fight, and left to die as a result of the attacks. Betsy was fortunately rescued in 2017.
Our rescuers did everything they could to provide Betsy with the best treatment and care possible. She eventually regained her strength and proved to her rescuers that she was the sweetest dog. In a video released in March, Betsy looks happier than ever in her forever home.
Happy ending
“Betsy had a bad start in life, but she got a second chance.” “We made her play and gave her a new life,” the video says. Of all the joy Betsy experiences with her new family, one moment stands out: out in the sun, resting on a trampoline and embraced by a little boy. “Betsy is completely satisfied,” the video says.
“Her treatment and transformation is one of the most beautiful rescue stories, the kind of story that inspires people to be better,” said Victor Larkhill, the man who shared Betsy’s story on his YouTube channel.
