Dead Dog Lifts Up His Head When The Angel He’s Been Waiting For Arrives To Take Him Home
When Judy Obregon received a photo of a poodle mix lying on a driveway, she thought the dog was dead. She was absolutely sure of it. But when Obregón went to retrieve the dog’s body, there was a surprise.
Before receiving the photo of the dog, Obregón, founder of The Abandoned Ones, a dog rescue group was searching for a poodle mix in a neighborhood located in Fort Worth, Texas. A local resident told her that this particular dog was wandering around as a stray and being tormented by children from the area.
“The children would throw food in the street to lure him out,” Obregon shared with The Dodo. “Then some neighbors saw these children tying a water hose around his neck.”
Obregón made three visits to the neighborhood. The dog could not be located on any occasion. After receiving the photo from the resident she initially contacted, she discovered that this person also believed the dog was dead.
“I couldn’t hold back my tears because I felt like I wasn’t doing enough,” Obregon said. “I blamed myself for not reaching out and preventing this dog from ending up in such dire circumstances.”
When Obregóns returned to the neighborhood, she was amazed to discover that the dog had managed to survive.
“When I approached him, he was still there. His head was up,” Obregon said. “I can’t even begin to describe how ecstatic I felt.”
But the condition of the dog, which Obregón named Julie, was very bad. While he did not have any injuries they were serious. weak. Obregon firmly believed that another day without help would be fatal for him.
Understandably, Jolly was also terrified after going through such an ordeal. But as soon as he got into the car with Obregon, he quickly began to relax.
“He started showering me with kisses,” Obregon recounted. “Within 48 hours it was as if a complete transformation had occurred.”
Obregón took Julie to the vet for a few days before taking him in. Jolie eventually found refuge with Obregón’s friend Crystal Hampton until his family came for good.
“After a few days it was as if he came out of his shell,” Obregón said excitedly. “His happiness and contentment were so palpable that there were moments when he swore he smiled.”
“We showed him that not all humans have traits,” Obregon expressed. “The animals show resilience, and the moment he was rescued he left his past behind.”
Jolly eventually discovered the house. “The last update I received is that he is living life to the fullest,” Obregon shared.
Obregón couldn’t be happier. “That’s why I’m committed to what I do,” Obregon said. “I must admit that if it wasn’t for that neighbor, Julie wouldn’t be alive today. She was instrumental in saving his life.”
