Man Beats Tiny Yorkie to Death for Vomiting in His Car!
A Florida security guard was arrested after cops say he beat a Yorkshire terrier to death.
Furthermore, Miami Beach police allege that Sigman Hernandez abused the dog — which weighed less than 10 pounds — in a fit of rage when the animal vomited in his car.
The Yorkie was found the night of April 7 in a parking garage next to a Publix grocery store by an employee who was believed to be dead.
According to the police report, officers went to the scene and found the dog still breathing, but her stomach was severely swollen.
As officers transported the dying dog to an emergency veterinary clinic, she occasionally “whimpered in pain,” according to the police report.
X-rays revealed that the dog had seven broken ribs on one side only, with other fractures on the other side.
Veterinarians told police that the dog, which authorities nicknamed “Lily,” had red eyes and a swollen chest, indicating she had also suffocated.
Lily clung to life for two days, but veterinarians were unable to save her.
Police say they identified Hernandez from surveillance footage showing him entering the garage at Publix, where he worked as a security guard.
On Wednesday, Hernandez turned himself in to police, who said he admitted to “slapping his dog and possibly choking her because she vomited in his car,” according to the police report.
Cops say Hernandez also admitted to taking the dog out of his car and leaving it in the parking garage.
He faces a charge of animal cruelty and was released from prison Thursday morning.
When he left jail, WKMG asked Hernandez if he had hurt his dog.
“No,” Hernandez replied.
